It's not often that I photograph landscapes at night without the moon. This trip to Joshua Tree, last fall, was a treat because I had the chance to experiment with star trails and think differently about my compositions.

Tomorrow night, I'm heading back to Joshua Tree National Park with a few friends for a weekend of shooting (yes, it's a full moon weekend), exploring and hanging out. It's been a while since I have had a road trip adventure, so I am very much looking forward to this trip.

Back in November, one of my favorite photography partner's in crime, Quenton, ventured with me to Joshua Tree National Park for a quick trip.

At the end of our trip, before we were heading into Los Angeles to pick up another friend for part two of the adventure, the storm  clouds began to roll in and the sky lit up. We dodged the rain clouds overhead and got a few shots in before the rain began to soak us. It continued for the entire two hour ride to LA.

I think it's about time to plan another trip here...
