I stood in a crowded room
Fueled by fire
Engulfed in passion
But it was you I saw
Smiling in the dim light
It is you, the one
Keeping sanity
filled with right
As the glances turn to glares
Filling the sky with fight
And I open my eyes
To discover the signs
Were there all along.

Spent a few days in Banff National Park last weekend, my first trip during winter, gazing at these beautiful mountain tops.
Travel: Alberta 2015
For the third summer in a row, I visited my Dad for a few days while he was on one of his crazy 6-week road trips. This year, my brother was preparing to be a Dad himself, so he stayed home.
My Dad spent most of the trip in a 1950 Ford Woody pulling a 1947 teardrop trailer, but transmission trouble forced him to send the Woody to a shop for repairs and rent a truck for the duration of the week that I was visiting.
We spent the first few days in Banff National Park, then took the Icefields Parkway up to Jasper to close out the trip. I had spent time in BC and Alberta, but never made it to the National Parks. Like usual, I had high expectations for the trip and was not disappointed. We had our fair share of rain, but it never stopped us from getting out and exploring the snow-capped mountains, cerulean lakes and beautiful landscapes.

Cabins in Polebridge, Montana
During our adventures in Glacier National Park, we took a drive to a gorgeous lake and passed through Polebridge on the way. 'Home Ranch Bottoms' was a necessary pitstop for some huckleberry margaritas and pie, homemade by Dan! Mmmm...

It seems that lately, friends of mine on G+ are sharing photos that are outside of their comfort zone, so I thought I'd share one of mine that falls into that category.
I shot this image during a recent trip to Glacier National Park with family. Having lived in California my entire whole life, I never really had a chance to see mountains like this until this trip and I'll just say, they were glorious!
When I began editing the images, I saw this shot and loved the snow patterns and clouds, but didn't feel like it had the impact I had hoped for. I mucked with it for about 15 minutes and then suddenly realized it had to be in B&W.
Those of you who know my work, know I engage in minimal processing for 98% of my images and rarely convert to B&W, so this is definitely an image I feel is unique for my catalog, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I'm heading back to this area on Friday and I'm really looking forward to Subaru camping, hanging with friends, shooting and being back in nature.
