Beneath the colored sky,
the crimson tide weaves a melodious tone.
Heartbeats fills every breath
my smile breaks through the cerulean
and the crashing waves whisper secrets
no apology necessary
Time melts away
and the moment left is perfect.

I took this image just before Boom the Styracosaurus was swept out to sea. I enjoyed the few months I spent with you Boom. You will be missed.

Here in my heart,
crimson laced,
crescendos a melody line.
Rises, then falls,
increasing again,
like a tide fighting the moon.

Vertical pano taken inside the reactor building at the unfinished Nuclear Power Plant in Hartsville, Tennessee.
The Tennessee Valley Authority halted construction on this plant in 1983 when the desire for nuclear power began to decrease.
Travel: Alberta 2015
For the third summer in a row, I visited my Dad for a few days while he was on one of his crazy 6-week road trips. This year, my brother was preparing to be a Dad himself, so he stayed home.
My Dad spent most of the trip in a 1950 Ford Woody pulling a 1947 teardrop trailer, but transmission trouble forced him to send the Woody to a shop for repairs and rent a truck for the duration of the week that I was visiting.
We spent the first few days in Banff National Park, then took the Icefields Parkway up to Jasper to close out the trip. I had spent time in BC and Alberta, but never made it to the National Parks. Like usual, I had high expectations for the trip and was not disappointed. We had our fair share of rain, but it never stopped us from getting out and exploring the snow-capped mountains, cerulean lakes and beautiful landscapes.

Photo: "Georgia State Hospital Morgue"
Construction began on this building at a Georgia State Hospital in 1928. It was named after the hospital's superintendent at the time and remained in operation until 1979.

Inside the cooling tower at the incomplete Satsop Nuclear Power Plant in Washington.
In 1975, preliminary work began on this site. Between 1980-1982, construction efforts were in full swing and the site employed 5,000 workers. A few short years later, construction on the plant was terminated and hundreds of workers lost their jobs.
Photo: "Sunset at Bowling Ball Beach"
This morning I finally had some time to sit down and edit images.
I somehow (those of you who are photographers know how quickly this can happen) got lost in the Lightroom catalog black hole and wound up in a folder of images from 2014.
I had intended to edit this image after this trip, but it looks like I never got around to it until today.
Photo: "Sega at Oneonta Gorge"
Last weekend, Sega and I took a trip to Oregon and Washington to visit some of our friends.
The visit to Oneonta Gorge was a first for us and it was as beautiful as we imagined!

This aircraft boneyard was pretty dreamy and so were the skies. This evening was a fortunate combination of golden light breaking through during a storm.

It's always such a challenge to explore an entire junkyard and try to capture the most interesting and appealing elements.
Seeing how ice cream is one of my favorite things in life, there was no doubt I was going to stop to shoot this truck last night.
