The 16th Street Station in Oakland opened in 1912.

Architect Jarvis Hunt designed the building, built by for the Southern Pacific Railway, and was the last Western stop on the trans-continental railway.

The plans for this building, unlike many others, includes restoration; and a desire to keep the space a community icon.

Photo: "The Night Sky Of Gullfoss"

We spent our last night in the RV near Gullfoss. The winds that night reached about 40mph. We didn't shoot long because our fingertips and noses froze quickly, but we continued to shoot, while watching the aurora dance above us. This location was a bit of a challenge to photograph, but it was worth braving the temps.
