I never imagined that I would brave the crowds to explore Antelope Canyon, but the option of adventuring into the canyon on my SUP was definitely something that interested me.

It was pretty incredible winding through the canyon, landing on this beach and walking the canyon while being almost completely alone.

Taken last September on my way to Colorado.

I have always been fascinated by the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas with beautiful canyons worn away for thousands of years by the powerful Colorado River.

I photographed this same location over 5 years ago, but this last visit was even more beautiful.

Travel: 2,600 Miles of the Southwest Through My iPhone

I spent the last week of 2015 on the road. The adventure started when I met up with my friend Joe in the Grand Canyon and we continued our adventure exploring more of Arizona and Utah over the next 5 days.

In the next few months, I'll be publishing fully processed DSLR images one at a time on my blog, but those images are not the only note-worthy moments from the trip.

During our 2,600 miles on the road, I captured dozens of images on my phone. The photographs below are the moments in between each DSLR shutter click. These are moments seldom shared and also some of my favorite moments from my travels.

Today, I settled back in at home after being away from San Francisco for 2 weeks. I spent the last 6 days traveling 2,600 miles across California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah while camping and shooting.

The Grand Canyon was the first stop last Sunday, after leaving San Diego. My friend Joe and I spent less than 24 hours here, but seeing the way the canyon looked during sunset, moonlight and sunrise was pretty awesome.
